Seeking a dedicated and compassionate professional for a School Psychologist contract position serving the vibrant communities surrounding Cicero and Evanston, IL for the 2026-2027 academic year. This full-time contract runs from August 18th through May 28th, with possible extension for emergency days. The position typically covers 37-40 hours per week, with hours scheduled from 8:00am to 3:30pm. You will work collaboratively with a team of school psychologists, with the specific caseload determined by distribution among staff.
Ideal candidates possess the following:
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with endorsement as a School Psychologist, or eligibility for credentialing in Illinois
- Demonstrated experience or a strong interest in serving children with mild to severe disabilities
- Previous school-based experience preferred, new graduates with internship experience are encouraged to apply
- Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to provide assessments, interventions, and consultative services across PreK-8th grade populations
- Commitment to inclusive practices and supporting diverse student needs
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting evaluations for academic, emotional, and behavioral concerns
- Collaborating with teachers, parents, and related service providers
- Developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Providing direct or consultative interventions as needed
- Supporting crisis intervention and prevention efforts
- Maintaining clear records and complying with state documentation requirements
