School-Based Social Worker
Position Overview
School is seeking a dedicated School-Based Social Worker (K–12) to provide social work services to students across multiple grade levels. This position supports student success by addressing behavioral, social, and emotional needs in a school setting.
This is a full-time, itinerant position for the 2026–2027 school year, serving students in the Flint/Burton, Michigan area.
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct and indirect social work services to students (PreK–12th grade)
Support and assist with Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs)
Conduct evaluations and assessments related to student needs
Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with the IEP team
Work with teachers, administrators, and school staff to support student outcomes
Manage a caseload of approximately 40–60 students
Travel between school sites (itinerant role)
Qualifications
Valid Michigan School Social Worker Certification (SSW) required
Active Michigan Social Worker License (LMSW or LLMSW) required
Experience working with K–12 students or in a school setting preferred
Knowledge of IEP processes, behavior plans, and student interventions
Strong collaboration and communication skills
