School Psychologist - Franklinville, NY

Desired Qualifications:

• Graduate degree (MA, MS, or MEd) in School Psychology or a closely related field
• Certification as a School Psychologist (open to candidates in the process of obtaining certification)
• Minimum of three years of experience working with a broad range of student ages
• Strong skills in assessment, diagnostics, counseling, and collaboration

Major Responsibilities:

• Perform comprehensive psychological evaluations for students referred by parents, faculty, or administration, and deliver clear, timely reports
• Review assessment results and recommendations with families and educators to foster collaborative support
• Conduct classroom observations and a variety of developmental and educational assessments, including those for kindergarten readiness
• Actively participate as part of CSE, CPSE, and 504 committees to ensure student needs are met
• Interpret and review external psycho-educational evaluations
• Provide short-term, targeted counseling—individually or in small groups—and crisis intervention as needed
• Consult with teachers, counselors, and other staff to address student needs and crisis situations
• Maintain confidential records and professional standards while building positive relationships district-wide
• Engage with local and regional agencies for referrals and resources as appropriate
• Support the Director of Special Education and complete other duties as assigned
