A contract opportunity is available for a dedicated full-time School Psychologist to support the academic and social-emotional development of students as soon as possible and for the next school year. The school welcomes applicants who are in the process of obtaining licensure as well as those already certified.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Arts, Science, or Education
- Certification as a School Psychologist (or eligibility/in process)
- At least three years of experience working as a School Psychologist with students spanning all age groups
- Proficient diagnostic, evaluative, and counseling skills
Primary Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Director of Special Education to assess and develop action plans for students’ unique needs
- Conduct comprehensive psychological evaluations for students referred by parents, educators, or administrators, ensuring timely and thorough reporting
- Meet with parents to discuss evaluation findings and recommendations
- Observe students in classroom settings and complete a variety of assessments, including those for Kindergarten readiness
- Serve as a resource for staff regarding student diagnoses, suggesting strategies to optimize learning
- Participate as a valued member in CSE, CPSE, and 504 committees
- Review psycho-educational reports from other institutions
- Provide short-term counseling (individual or group) and crisis intervention as needed
- Offer consultative support to school counselors and staff during emergencies
- Refer students and families to relevant community and regional agencies when appropriate
- Uphold confidentiality and maintain strong, collaborative relationships across the school community
