A contract opportunity is available for a dedicated full-time School Psychologist to support the academic and social-emotional development of students as soon as possible and for the next school year. This position offers a rewarding chance to shape student outcomes in a district that has been seeking the right professional for two years. The school welcomes applicants who are in the process of obtaining licensure as well as those already certified.

Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Arts, Science, or Education
• Certification as a School Psychologist (or eligibility/in process)
• At least three years of experience working as a School Psychologist with students spanning all age groups
• Proficient diagnostic, evaluative, and counseling skills

Primary Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the Director of Special Education to assess and develop action plans for students’ unique needs
• Conduct comprehensive psychological evaluations for students referred by parents, educators, or administrators, ensuring timely and thorough reporting
• Meet with parents to discuss evaluation findings and recommendations
• Observe students in classroom settings and complete a variety of assessments, including those for Kindergarten readiness
• Serve as a resource for staff regarding student diagnoses, suggesting strategies to optimize learning
• Participate as a valued member in CSE, CPSE, and 504 committees
• Review psycho-educational reports from other institutions
• Provide short-term counseling (individual or group) and crisis intervention as needed
• Offer consultative support to school counselors and staff during emergencies
• Refer students and families to relevant community and regional agencies when appropriate
• Uphold confidentiality and maintain strong, collaborative relationships across the school community
