A contract role is available for a dedicated professional with expertise as a School Psychologist, working primarily in assessment, consultation, and behavioral interventions within two welcoming schools—an elementary and a middle school—just outside the Washington, DC area.
This full-time opportunity spans the 2026-2027 school year, running from August 3, 2026, to May 26, 2027. Your weekday schedule (8:00 am–3:30 pm) grants both consistency and work/life balance. The district values flexibility, offering a 4-days on-site and 1-day remote hybrid schedule if needed.
Key responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments and consultations.
- Support Functional Behavioral Assessment (FBA) and Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP) development.
- Participate in Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) when required.
- Occasionally aid social workers with counseling (academic diagnostic testing not required).
- Collaborate with staff to provide holistic student support.
Qualifications & experience:
- Active Virginia DOE Certificate and valid Virginia Psychologist Licensure.
- Completed or willingness to promptly begin VA Department of Social Services background check.
- TB test clearance in accordance with state guidelines.
- Experience in K-12 school settings, especially with elementary and middle school populations, is highly desirable.
- Exceptional communication and consultative skills.
