School Psychologist | Gloucester, Virginia

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students’ academic and emotional growth for the upcoming school year! This position offers the chance to serve both middle and elementary school sites, making a significant impact in a dynamic educational setting. The assignment begins ideally by August 3rd (August 10th possible), with students returning August 24th, and continues through the second week of June. You’ll enjoy a full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week—8-hour days with a 30-minute unpaid lunch—providing consistency while still allowing for work-life balance.

Preferred Background & Qualifications:

• Must hold valid credentials as a School Psychologist
• Experience working in K-8 settings highly desirable
• Strong skills in conducting psychological evaluations (no educational testing required, only psych testing)
• Familiarity with conducting Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and providing counseling services to students
• Excellent organizational skills; able to manage a yearly caseload of 60–80 psychological evaluations
• Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, families, and administrators
• Adaptable and compassionate approach to various student needs

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive psychological evaluations for students across middle and elementary school campuses
• Complete only psychological testing; no educational testing involved
• Perform Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) and deliver counseling services as needed
• Consult with teachers and parents about strategies and interventions to address student needs
• Document assessments, progress, and recommendations in compliance with district and state requirements
• Support team meetings and contribute to Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) when appropriate
