Make an impact supporting students' success and well-being in an urban educational setting. This contract opportunity is for a dedicated School Psychologist to provide services primarily to Head Start (pre-K) students, with possibility to work with K-12 as needs arise. The assignment begins as soon as possible, extending through June 12, 2026, with the potential for ESY work and continuation into the 2026-2027 academic year. You’ll work onsite, 35 hours per week near the Grand Blanc, Lansing, and Detroit areas, with a manageable caseload of approximately 60 students, focusing on those with mild to moderate disabilities.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Michigan School Psychologist Certification or Preliminary Certification (required)
  • Ability to provide official university transcripts prior to placement consideration
  • Previous experience in school psychology or a related setting preferred
  • Familiarity with the challenges faced by students in urban environments
  • Understanding of Michigan Administrative Rules for Special Education (MARSE) and IDEA Federal Regulations preferred
  • Strong skills in collaboration, assessment, and communication

Core Responsibilities:

  • Conduct psychological assessments to support eligibility decisions for special education services
  • Collaborate in developing and implementing procedures for early identification and intervention for students with academic, social, or emotional needs
  • Clearly communicate findings to parents, teachers, and administrators
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, ongoing professional development, and staff training
  • Ensure uniform implementation of special education policies across assigned buildings
  • Support staff, students, and families by identifying relevant resources and addressing the diverse needs of an urban community
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
