A rewarding opportunity is available for experienced School Psychologists for a contract role for the 2026-2027 academic year, near Hampton, VA. This position spans August 2026 through June 2027, offering a consistent weekly schedule of 35-37.5 hours with a caseload across elementary, middle, and high school students. Candidates are encouraged to share their caseload preferences, as there may be some flexibility based on school needs.
Preferred applicants will bring strong skills in educational assessments, psychoeducational evaluations, participation in IEP meetings, and a comprehensive understanding of students' diverse needs. Notably, candidates who have experience working in virtual or VOCO (virtual online consultative) modalities will be prioritized, should the district require remote support.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid certification or licensure as a School Psychologist
- Previous experience in K-12 educational settings (elementary, middle, and/or high school)
- Strong background in administering assessments, evaluations, and collaborating on IEPs
- Familiarity with special education practices and regulations
- VOCO experience highly desirable
- Excellent communication and collaborative skills
Role Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychological and psychoeducational assessments for students at various grade levels
- Participate actively in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary teams to determine student needs
- Provide consultation and support to educators, families, and school staff
- Develop strategies and interventions to assist students in academic and social success
- Maintain accurate records and timely documentation in compliance with requirements
