School Psychologist in Hilton Head Island, SC

Make a meaningful impact by supporting students’ social, emotional, and behavioral development in a dedicated, trauma-informed program serving learners with the most intensive needs. In this contract opportunity near Hilton Head Island, you’ll collaborate with educators, families, and a multidisciplinary team to help students overcome barriers and build lifelong skills.

In this role, you’ll provide comprehensive psychological and counseling services through the Promising Students Program, supporting students with challenging behaviors and complex emotional needs. Your expertise in assessment, intervention, and data-driven planning will be essential in helping students succeed academically and personally.

Key Qualifications & Experience:

• Certification or licensure as a School Psychologist
• Proven experience with behavioral, counseling, and trauma-informed practices
• Skilled in conducting psychoeducational and behavioral assessments
• Experience developing and monitoring Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs)
• Ability to support Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) implementation
• Strong consultation skills with both teachers and families
• Proficient in participating in IEP and Section 504 processes
• Crisis intervention and safety planning experience preferred
• Commitment to fostering inclusive, supportive learning environments

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide individual and small-group counseling for students
• Conduct comprehensive evaluations to inform interventions
• Develop, implement, and monitor behavioral plans
• Collaborate with school teams, families, and external professionals
• Participate in crisis management and transition planning for student reintegration
• Support the emotional regulation, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills of each student
