Make a meaningful impact supporting students as a school psychologist in a collaborative educational environment near Jersey City, NJ. This full-time contract position offers a consistent weekday schedule from 8:15 AM to 3:15 PM, working closely with a diverse elementary-aged population. You'll primarily focus on students in Pre-K through Grade 4 across four district buildings, with opportunities to touch a broader P-8 caseload.

As a valued team member, you will:

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Valid School Psychologist certification for New Jersey (NJDOE or NCSP credential preferred)
  • Previous experience in a school setting or with children ages Pre-K through Grade 8
  • Strong skills in assessment, counseling, and case management
  • Familiarity with IEP development, special education processes, and federal/state education guidelines
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities
  • Capacity to travel between buildings as needed

Role Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of 40-50 students for comprehensive case management tasks
  • Provide direct counseling services for 2-8 students, addressing emotional, social, and behavioral needs
  • Conduct psychological assessments, write reports, and attend eligibility and IEP meetings
  • Consult with teachers, families, and teams to support student success
  • Develop and contribute to positive behavior intervention plans and multi-tiered supports
  • Promote a safe and supportive school climate
