Take your expertise as a school psychologist to the next level by supporting students with significant needs in a rewarding contract opportunity near Kansas City, KS. This position focuses on providing in-person psychological assessment and support services across a K-12 setting, involving students with intense disabilities, including those who are non-verbal, physically impaired, or rely on assistive technology devices for communication. The assignment spans the 2026-2027 school year, running from August 12, 2026, to May 21, 2027, with the potential for travel between multiple sites within the district.

What We're Looking For:

  • Valid certification or licensure as a School Psychologist
  • Experience with or passion for serving students with severe and complex needs
  • Ability to administer, score, and interpret psychological assessments for students with diverse communication and physical abilities
  • Familiarity with assistive technology and alternative communication methods is highly desirable
  • Willingness to travel between campus locations as needed
  • Collaborative mindset for working alongside educators, related service providers, and families
  • Strong organizational skills and adaptability
  • Previous experience in a K-12 educational environment (preferred)

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive psychological testing and evaluations for K-12 students with significant needs
  • Collaborate with special education teams to develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs)
  • Support transition planning and problem solving for students utilizing non-traditional communication methods
  • Consult with staff and families on strategies to support student learning
  • Maintain accurate records and prepare reports in accordance with school district and compliance standards
