Make a meaningful impact supporting students as a school psychologist in the vibrant New Orleans area. This full-time, onsite contract position offers the opportunity to work collaboratively with educators, families, and fellow professionals to help shape positive outcomes for young learners during the 2026-2027 academic year.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid and active Louisiana DOE school psychologist certification is required
- Previous school-based experience highly preferred
- Comfortable working full-time, Monday through Friday, following the school district calendar
- Ability to adapt to various school environments (school assignments and caseload details will be determined upon hire)
- Strong communication, assessment, and consultation skills
- Capable of satisfying time-sensitive credentialing, including a drug screen and district-required fingerprinting as part of the onboarding process
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations for students as needed
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement intervention strategies, including support for IEP and 504 plans
- Provide counseling and behavioral support to students individually or in small groups
- Consult with teachers, administrators, and parents to enhance student learning and wellbeing
- Maintain accurate records and documentation according to school and district policies
