Step into a meaningful role providing support as a School Psychologist in the vibrant New Orleans area. This contract position is full-time, spanning from ASAP through late May 2027. Working onsite, you'll collaborate closely with school teams to help students reach their potential during the academic calendar.
Key Qualifications:
- Must hold an active Louisiana Department of Education Certification
- Prior experience as a School Psychologist within schools strongly preferred
- Familiarity with school-based psychological assessments, consultations, and interventions
- Knowledge of federal and state educational guidelines for students with special needs
- Clearance required through district-specific drug screening and fingerprinting processes
- Strong communication and organizational skills
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations and assessments to support students’ learning and behavioral needs
- Work in partnership with educators, parents, and support staff to develop and implement intervention plans
- Consult on behavioral and crisis situations, offering evidence-based strategies
- Document services and progress in alignment with district and state requirements
- Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) and multidisciplinary team meetings
- Serve as an advocate for students’ mental health and academic success
