Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students as a School Psychologist near Laguna, NM. This role involves delivering essential counseling and assessment services both during the Extended School Year (ESY) and throughout the regular academic calendar. Play a pivotal role in helping students succeed by working directly within schools and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

The position begins June 1, 2026, with ESY counseling support needed once a week for approximately 4 hours throughout June. As the 2026–2027 school year launches in August, the need expands to 2–3 days per week, roughly 6 hours each day, running through June 2027. In this dynamic setting, you’ll contribute meaningfully to student wellbeing and educational outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • Current licensure to practice as a psychologist is required.
  • Experience conducting psychoeducational and psychological evaluations.
  • Solid foundation in IEP development and familiarity with special education eligibility criteria.
  • Experience with, or willingness to learn about, the Bureau of Indian Education (BIE) system.
  • Strong organizational abilities, particularly in documentation, compliance, and service tracking.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide counseling services for students during ESY and the regular academic year.
  • Carry out comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations for special education and gifted/talented determinations.
  • Accurately maintain and submit service logs and required documentation.
  • Actively participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with school staff.
  • Offer general psychological support and consultation within the school community.
