Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Michigan School Psychologist certification or Preliminary School Psychologist Certification required
  • Official university transcripts must be available prior to consideration
  • Previous experience in school psychology or with similar agencies is preferred, particularly serving urban communities
  • Strong familiarity with Michigan Administrative Rules for Special Education (MARSE) and related IDEA Federal Regulations
  • Experience collaborating with diverse teams and engaging with families in urban environments

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough psychological assessments, including cognitive, academic, and social-emotional evaluations, to help determine eligibility and support for special education services
  • Lead early identification and evidence-based intervention procedures for students facing academic, behavioral, or emotional difficulties
  • Collaborate regularly with teachers, parents, and administrators to communicate findings and develop comprehensive educational plans
  • Participate in ongoing professional development, staying at the forefront of best practices and regulatory updates
  • Maintain consistent implementation of special education protocols across all assigned schools
