Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Valid New York School Psychologist Certificate required
  • Demonstrated experience in school-based psychological assessments
  • Proficiency in chairing Committee on Special Education (CSE) meetings
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with accuracy and compassion
  • Collaborative mindset and commitment to student advocacy

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify student needs and inform educational planning
  • Facilitate and chair CSE meetings, ensuring compliance with best practices and legal requirements
  • Collaborate with educators, administrators, and families to design and implement effective interventions
  • Prepare detailed, timely reports and recommendations
  • Support development of individualized education programs (IEPs)
  • Provide short-term counseling and crisis intervention as needed
