The school year runs from mid-August through early June, setting the stage for a stable, extended assignment.
You’ll serve two schools within the district, with placement tailored to your preferences on age level and location. Situated near vibrant communities, the district is a commutable distance from both Baltimore and Washington, D.C.—about 75 minutes from Baltimore and 45-50 minutes from D.C.—making it ideal for those seeking a change of scenery without sacrificing access to urban amenities.
Qualifications/Experience:
- Certification or eligibility for School Psychologist licensure in Maryland
- Consideration given to candidates from out of state and recent graduates
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities
- Understanding of student assessment, intervention, and consultative processes
- Ability to manage caseload across multiple school sites
- Passion for student advocacy and special education services
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive psychoeducational assessments
- Develop and interpret evaluation reports for multidisciplinary teams
- Provide direct and consultative services to students, parents, and educators
- Support the creation and implementation of behavior management and academic intervention plans
- Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings
- Travel between two assigned schools (mileage within district for work purposes only)
