Step into a vital and rewarding role supporting K-8 students for the full academic year as a contracted school psychologist. You'll make a meaningful impact every day, working with a diverse group of students across a caseload of 670 children in a welcoming community close to Mount Pleasant, SC. This full-time opportunity lets you fully immerse yourself in the school environment, working five days per week and collaborating closely with a dedicated team of educators and support staff.

Your expertise will be central to students’ success and well-being. You'll utilize your assessment and counseling skills to evaluate and support students, helping to foster a positive and inclusive learning environment. Candidates with prior experience serving K-8 populations will be especially valued, as this insight enhances collaboration with teachers, administrators, and families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments to understand and address students’ needs
  • Provide both individual and group counseling for students confronting emotional or mental health challenges
  • Collaborate with educators and parents to address academic, behavioral, and social-emotional concerns
  • Develop targeted interventions and strategies for students experiencing behavioral and emotional difficulties
  • Participate actively in IEP meetings and help set meaningful goals
  • Deliver crisis support and intervention for students facing emotional distress
  • Provide training and resources on mental health topics to staff and families
  • Maintain thorough, confidential records of all assessments and interventions
  • Take on additional responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Master's or Doctoral degree in School Psychology
  • South Carolina certification as a School Psychologist
  • Demonstrated experience in psychological assessment and counseling within a school setting
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
  • Understanding of mental health challenges in school-age populations
