Qualifications & Preferred Experience:
- Master’s Degree from an accredited program in School Psychology or related field
- Valid Illinois Professional Educators License (PEL) or National Certified School Psychologist credential
- Deep understanding of evidence-based assessments and intervention practices
- Proven ability to develop individualized plans fostering both academic and behavioral success
- Familiarity with federal and state regulations—IDEA, Section 504, and “child find” obligations
- Experience conducting research-based assessments and providing data-driven recommendations
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead teams in completing Functional Behavioral Assessments and crafting Behavior Intervention Plans
- Act as a crucial link between school, students, and parents—providing clear explanations about interventions and management strategies
- Present evaluation and observational data to IEP teams, contributing to eligibility and educational planning discussions
- Serve, when needed, as LEA representative—organizing and facilitating IEP meetings, ensuring collaboration and compliance
- Deliver individual and group counseling to support students’ academic, emotional, social, and behavioral adjustment
- Consult with teachers to address learning or behavioral challenges, assisting with classroom interventions and behavioral programs
- Participate actively in the School Support Team and Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) processes to promote student growth
- Partner with community agencies to deliver comprehensive support for students and their families
