This position, located near New Britain, CT, focuses on delivering critical support to a manageable caseload of 10 elementary students. The role provides a consistent work schedule, with hours from 7:45 am to 3:15 pm, totaling 37.5 hours per week. As this is an on-site only position, candidates must be prepared to work in the school environment every day.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid certification and state licensure as a School Psychologist
- Experience working in elementary schools, understanding students’ social, emotional, and academic needs
- Proficiency in administering educational and behavioral assessments
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with teachers, families, and school staff
- Compassionate, organized, and detail-oriented
- Ability to provide both assessments and counseling services in a school setting
Responsibilities:
- Conduct individual and group assessments to identify student needs
- Provide support, interventions, and short-term counseling for elementary students
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, parents, and service providers to develop strategies for student success
- Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and IEP development as required
- Maintain accurate and timely records of services and evaluations
- Respond adaptively to student concerns, supporting a safe and positive school climate
