School Psychologist - New Kent, VA

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Active VA state Psychologist License (required)
• Experience working with K-12 students, preferably with elementary populations
• Strong communication skills for collaboration with educators, parents, and administrators
• Ability to conduct assessments and interpret results effectively
• Knowledge of evidence-based interventions for behavioral and academic concerns
• Commitment to supporting students from diverse backgrounds

Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive psychological evaluations, including cognitive, academic, and behavioral assessments
• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in coordination with multidisciplinary teams
• Provide direct counseling and intervention services to students, as needed
• Consult and collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to discuss student needs and recommend strategic interventions
• Participate in crisis response and develop preventive strategies for supporting emotional well-being
• Maintain detailed and confidential records in compliance with school and state regulations
