Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting elementary students as a skilled School Psychologist. This position, based near Newark, NJ, offers a chance to make a meaningful difference in young learners’ lives for the fall semester. Work within a collaborative educational environment from September 2nd through January 1st, with consistent hours scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.

Qualifications and Preferred Experience:

  • Certified School Psychologist with current credentials
  • Experience working with elementary-age children in a school setting
  • Familiarity with counseling and intervention strategies appropriate for elementary students
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities to partner with teachers, parents, and school teams
  • Knowledge of assessment tools and educational planning processes
  • Ability to manage a caseload of 25-30 students and provide counseling for an additional 15 cases

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct psychological assessments and interpret test results to support individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Provide evidence-based counseling to students addressing emotional, behavioral, and social challenges
  • Collaborate with educators, administrators, and families to support student development and foster a positive school climate
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, contributing insights to intervention planning
  • Offer crisis intervention and promote mental health initiatives within the school
  • Maintain accurate, confidential records and documentation in accordance with district policies
