Experience a dynamic contract opportunity as a School Psychologist working onsite in the vibrant Suffolk area, near Newport News, VA. In this engaging role, you will provide important psychological and educational services to various schools throughout the week, supporting students’ academic, behavioral, and social-emotional growth.
You’ll spend each day covering meetings in a different building—including two elementary schools, one middle school, and one high school—offering a diverse and rewarding work environment. Fridays are uniquely reserved for assessments and report writing, giving you structured time to focus on essential documentation and student evaluations.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Current Virginia Teaching License with an endorsement in School Psychology
- Master’s or Specialist-level degree in School Psychology required
- Proven ability to independently manage caseloads across multiple locations
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with staff, families, and students
- Ability to adapt quickly to different school cultures and schedules
- Experience with psychoeducational assessments, counseling, and intervention planning preferred
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive psychological services, including evaluations, consultations, and interventions
- Support IEP meetings and special education teams at each assigned school
- Collect and analyze data to inform school-wide and individual student interventions
- Conduct student assessments and generate thorough, timely reports each Friday
- Collaborate with educators, administrators, and parents to promote student well-being
- Contribute to multi-disciplinary teams and help develop individualized support plans
