School Psychologist in Newport News, VA

Your expertise will be essential in supporting students’ academic, behavioral, and emotional needs throughout the school year (37.5 hours per week).

Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid Virginia School Psychologist License required
• Experience with K-12 school populations, with a preference for elementary caseloads
• Strong ability to conduct psychoeducational assessments and interpret results
• Skilled in developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Exceptional communication and collaboration skills with students, staff, and families
• Familiarity with current best practices in school psychology and counseling

Primary Responsibilities:

• Administer assessments to identify cognitive, social, and emotional needs of students
• Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and administrators to create strategies for student success
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to eligibility determinations
• Provide counseling, crisis intervention, and support services as needed
