A full-time School Psychologist position is available for the 26/27 school year, serving a K-12 caseload with an emphasis on elementary students. This role requires a commitment of 37.5 hours per week and is based within a school environment in Newport News, VA. The ideal candidate holds a valid Virginia state Psychologist license and is experienced in providing comprehensive psychological services to students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychological assessments and evaluations for K-12 students, primarily focusing on elementary grades.
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and administrators to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Provide counseling and support to address behavioral and emotional concerns.
- Assist in crisis intervention and develop strategies to promote a positive school climate.
- Maintain accurate records and adhere to ethical and legal standards in psychological practice.
Qualifications:
- Valid Virginia State Psychologist License.
- Experience working with children in a K-12 school setting, with a preference for elementary education.
- Strong assessment, counseling, and consultation skills.
