School Psychologist in Normal, IL

Qualifications and Experience:

• Master’s degree (or higher) in School Psychology from an accredited program
• Current state licensure/certification as a School Psychologist
• Previous experience working in a school or educational setting preferred
• Strong assessment, consultation, and crisis intervention skills
• Ability to effectively collaborate with teachers, parents, administrators, and other specialists
• Excellent communication, time-management, and organizational abilities
• Knowledge of current special education laws, procedures, and best practices

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct psychological assessments and interpret results for eligibility and service planning
• Participate in the development of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 plans
• Provide individual and group counseling to address emotional, behavioral, and academic needs
• Offer consultation and intervention support to educators and families
• Assist with crisis response, behavioral intervention planning, and prevention programs
• Engage in ongoing professional development to ensure up-to-date practice approaches
• Help foster a positive, inclusive school climate where every student can thrive
