Step into a vital role supporting student growth and well-being in a K-8 educational environment. This contract opportunity for a dedicated school psychologist offers the chance to make a tangible impact for a diverse population of students. Work closely with school faculty, families, and administration to address and empower the social, emotional, and academic success of approximately 670 K-8 students. This full-time position spans the entire school year, with a standard schedule of 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments to evaluate cognitive, emotional, and social development.
- Provide individual and group counseling to support students facing mental health challenges.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to address a range of behavioral and academic concerns.
- Develop, implement, and monitor interventions for students with social, emotional, and behavioral needs.
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the formation of student goals.
- Offer crisis intervention and emotional support for students during critical times.
- Educate school staff and families about mental health resources and best practices.
- Maintain thorough, confidential documentation for student services and interventions.
- Assume additional responsibilities as assigned.
Desired Experience & Qualifications:
- Master’s or Doctoral degree in School Psychology.
- Active South Carolina School Psychologist certification.
- Previous experience providing counseling and conducting psychological evaluations in school settings.
- Strong knowledge of issues affecting children and adolescents’ mental health.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
