Step into an influential role as a School Psychologist at a district near Norwalk, CT for the remainder of the 25/26 school year. The typical workday runs from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm, providing a balanced schedule and a meaningful caseload.
As a School Psychologist, you’ll dedicate three days each week supporting students on-site, fostering their academic, emotional, and social development. The remaining two days will focus on conducting comprehensive evaluations to help identify students’ needs and contribute to the creation of individualized educational plans, ensuring every child receives the support they deserve.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Master’s or Specialist degree in School Psychology from an accredited institution
- Valid state certification or eligibility to become certified as a School Psychologist
- Prior experience in a school setting preferred
- Proficiency with student evaluations, assessments, and the development of interventions
- Strong communication skills, with an ability to collaborate effectively with educators, families, and other specialists
- Compassionate, resourceful, and adaptable to the dynamic needs of the school environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform individual and group counseling, social-emotional support, and behavioral interventions
- Lead and participate in evaluations and assessments for students referred for special education services
- Work closely with teachers, administrators, and families in developing and monitoring student plans
- Provide recommendations for evidence-based classroom strategies and supports
- Maintain detailed documentation and contribute to team meetings
