Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students across elementary grades, from PreK through 8th, as an experienced school psychologist. This in-person role, conveniently located near Palatine, IL, allows you to make a tangible difference in the lives of children during the academic year, starting August 19, 2026 and concluding June 2, 2027. The weekly commitment is a guaranteed 37.5 hours, with daily schedules varying depending on the assigned school (for example, Intermediate hours run 8:20-3:55, and Middle School from 7:40-3:15).
Your key qualifications:
- Valid School Psychologist license or certification, required for state compliance
- Previous experience working with elementary-aged students, PreK-8th grade
- Solid skills in behavioral and academic assessment, intervention planning, and counseling
- Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, families, and school staff
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Commitment to providing fully in-person support throughout the duration of the contract
What you’ll do:
- Conduct student evaluations and assessments to identify learning, emotional, or behavioral concerns
- Collaborate with general and special education teams to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Deliver counseling and intervention services to students individually and in groups
- Support crisis response and consult with teachers and administrative staff
- Document progress, maintain accurate records, and help foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment
