This full-time contract opportunity is based near Palatine, IL, and is perfect for a School Psychologist passionate about early intervention and specialized programming.
This unique position is split between an Early Childhood Center serving preschool and kindergarten students (3.5 days/week) and a specialized elementary program designed for students with autism and developmental disabilities (1.5 days/week). Each setting provides a chance to use your expertise to nurture young learners and support inclusive education.
Qualifications:
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with School Psychologist endorsement required
- Experience or strong interest in working with early childhood populations
- Comfort with assessment, consultation, and intervention strategies for students with autism and developmental disabilities
- Ability to collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments to identify student strengths and needs
- Collaborate in developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Provide consultation and support to teaching staff in behavioral and academic interventions
- Deliver crisis intervention and counseling services as appropriate
- Monitor student progress and participate in multidisciplinary team meetings
- Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
