School Psychologist - Palatine, IL

Make a meaningful impact in the 2024-2025 school year supporting students’ academic, social, and emotional growth in a dynamic, collaborative educational community. This full-time contract opportunity is based near Palatine, IL, and is perfect for a School Psychologist passionate about early intervention and specialized programming.

This unique position is split between an Early Childhood Center serving preschool and kindergarten students (3.5 days/week) and a specialized elementary program designed for students with autism and developmental disabilities (1.5 days/week). Each setting provides a chance to use your expertise to nurture young learners and support inclusive education.

Qualifications:

• Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with School Psychologist endorsement required
• Experience or strong interest in working with early childhood populations
• Comfort with assessment, consultation, and intervention strategies for students with autism and developmental disabilities
• Ability to collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families
• Excellent communication and organizational skills

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments to identify student strengths and needs
• Collaborate in developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Provide consultation and support to teaching staff in behavioral and academic interventions
• Deliver crisis intervention and counseling services as appropriate
• Monitor student progress and participate in multidisciplinary team meetings
• Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
