School Psychologist in Palatine, IL

Step into a fulfilling role supporting young learners by providing school psychology services for the 2024-2025 school year. This unique, full-time contract opportunity is split between an inclusive Early Childhood Center—serving preschool and kindergarten students—and a specialized elementary program for students with autism and developmental disabilities across grades K-5. The schedule allows you to share your expertise across both settings: 3.5 days spent working alongside energetic early childhood teams and 1.5 days dedicated to three small, specialized classrooms.

You’ll play a vital role in assessment, intervention, and advocacy, guiding students, collaborating with multidisciplinary staff, and engaging with families to foster growth and success for every learner.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with School Psychologist endorsement is required
• Experience or strong interest in early childhood development and/or supporting students with autism or developmental disabilities
• Demonstrated skills in conducting psychoeducational assessments and interpreting results to inform interventions
• Collaborative approach, working effectively within diverse educational teams
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct and consultative psychological services to students in preschool, kindergarten, and specialized elementary classrooms
• Conduct comprehensive evaluations for special education eligibility and ongoing programming
• Develop and support individualized intervention strategies in collaboration with teachers, therapists, and families
• Contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings, IEP planning, and data-driven decision-making
• Support staff and families with resources, guidance, and crisis intervention as needed
