Required Skills & Experience:
- Valid license or certification as a school psychologist in California
- Master’s or doctoral degree in school psychology or a related field
- Experience conducting behavioral, emotional, and academic assessments
- Excellent skills in counseling individuals and groups
- Strong ability to collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families
- In-depth knowledge of special education laws and processes
- Outstanding verbal and written communication abilities
- Positive, flexible attitude and strong organizational skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive psychological and educational evaluations
- Interpret assessment results to help develop effective individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Provide direct counseling support and interventions to students
- Serve as a vital resource for staff and families concerning mental health, learning disorders, and behavior management
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design strategies supporting students’ academic and social development
- Facilitate crisis intervention and provide relevant staff training
- Maintain accurate case records and documentation in compliance with district and state guidelines
