This contract position, located near Paterson, NJ, runs from September 2nd to January 1st and offers a consistent schedule from 8:30 am to 3:45 pm. Serve as a key member of a welcoming school community, helping students reach their full social, emotional, and academic potential.

Qualifications:

  • Valid School Psychologist certification
  • School Social Worker certificate required or strong preference
  • Experience working with elementary school-age children
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities
  • Proven capability to balance assessment, counseling, and consultation duties
  • Energetic, flexible, and compassionate approach toward supporting diverse student needs

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of approximately 25-30 students for evaluations and ongoing support services
  • Provide individual and group counseling for about 15 students, addressing a wide range of social-emotional needs
  • Collaborate closely with teachers, administrators, and families to design and monitor interventions
  • Conduct psychoeducational assessments and participate in multi-disciplinary meetings
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in compliance with required timelines
  • Support crisis management and behavioral intervention as part of a caring student support team
