Make a real impact supporting K-8 students as a School Psychologist on a contract basis in the Peoria, AZ area. This role offers the chance to collaborate with general education students who receive speech services, as well as two self-contained foundational skills classrooms serving those with intellectual disabilities. The manageable caseload—approximately 43 students—lets you provide personalized attention and high-quality care, all within a supportive educational environment.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid School Psychologist certification (state-level credentials as required)
- Prior experience in K-8 schools highly valued
- Demonstrated understanding of working with general education and self-contained classrooms
- Ability to complete assessments, evaluations, and reports in a timely manner
- Strong collaboration and communication skills with teachers, parents, and support staff
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychological and academic assessments for K-8 students, including those in speech services and foundational skills classrooms
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Provide counseling, crisis intervention, and behavioral support as needed
- Support staff and families with expertise on student cognitive, social, and emotional development
- Maintain accurate records in compliance with all local and federal regulations
- Participate in team meetings and follow-up on student progress, ensuring all 43 students’ needs are addressed
