School Psychologist - Portsmouth, VA

You'll play a pivotal part in the academic and social development of young learners, ensuring their educational environment is both supportive and inclusive.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid State School Psychologist license
• Active DOE Certification required
• Open to both experienced professionals and recent graduates in school psychology
• Experience in schools preferred but not required
• Willingness to travel between schools as assigned
• Strong communication and collaboration skills

Primary Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments and evaluations for elementary students
• Attend and participate in ARD, re-eval, and IEP meetings, serving as a knowledgeable advocate for student needs
• Collaborate with faculty, parents, and other team members to design and implement effective interventions
• Provide consultative support to educators to promote positive academic and behavioral outcomes
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations

The school day runs from 8 am to 4 pm, with the option to consider both full-time and part-time candidates. Assignments and caseloads may vary and will be determined based on current program needs. Please note: This position requires on-site presence; remote or hybrid arrangements are not available.
