Step into a dynamic role as a school psychologist serving the vibrant student communities near Portsmouth, VA. This contract position offers meaningful work for the upcoming academic year, with a clear focus on providing in-person psychological support to K-12 students. The assignment spans from August 31, 2026, through June 15, 2027, and offers a consistent full-time schedule—35 hours per week, Monday through Friday.

Key Qualifications:

  • Current VA DOE licensure and active psychologist license are both required
  • Direct experience as a school psychologist in an educational setting
  • Demonstrated skills in assessment, counseling, and consultation with students, teachers, and families
  • Strong collaboration and communication abilities
  • Commitment to on-site, in-person work; remote or hybrid models are not available for this position

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Conduct psychological assessments and provide recommendations to support students’ educational progress
  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, educators, and families to develop and implement intervention strategies
  • Offer counseling and crisis intervention as needed for students across a range of age groups (specific caseload details TBD)
  • Participate in IEP meetings, student evaluations, and data-driven decision making
  • Maintain thorough and timely documentation in accordance with school and state requirements

What to Expect: Onsite assignments will be finalized, and flexibility may be available based on the district’s needs. Interview times are open on multiple dates, including Thursday, June 25 (9:00 AM–12:00 PM), Wednesday, July 1 (1:00 PM), and Monday, July 13 (10:00 AM–12:00 PM).
