An opportunity is available for a licensed School Psychologist to provide essential psychological services during a maternity leave assignment at an elementary school in Providence, RI. This full-time contract role offers a dynamic and supportive environment for delivering comprehensive psychological support to young learners over the course of a full semester.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct psychoeducational evaluations and assessments to identify student needs
  • Collaborate with educators, parents, and staff to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Provide consultation and support to teachers and administrators regarding student behavior and academic performance
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute findings and recommendations
  • Deliver direct counseling and interventions to students as needed within the elementary caseload

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid Rhode Island School Psychologist certification and licensure
  • Experience working with elementary-aged students in school settings
  • Strong assessment, diagnostic, and intervention skills tailored to diverse student populations
  • Effective communication and consultation abilities with school teams and families
  • Familiarity with state regulations and special education laws pertinent to school psychology

Role Details:

  • Location: Providence, RI
  • Contract duration: Full semester ending 6/12/2026
  • Work schedule: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
  • Assignment type: Maternity leave coverage
  • Caseload: Elementary school students
  • Note: No VOCO available for this assignment
