School Psychologist in Providence, RI

Desired Experience and Skills:

• Valid certification or license as a School Psychologist
• Master’s or Doctoral degree in School Psychology or related field
• Previous experience working within a school environment preferred
• Strong understanding of special education laws and services (e.g., IEPs, 504s)
• Exceptional assessment, counseling, and consultation abilities
• Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
• Excellent communication and organizational skills

Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive psychoeducational assessments and interpret results for eligibility determination and program planning
• Provide individual and group counseling to students to address academic, behavioral, or social-emotional concerns
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to design and implement intervention strategies and support plans
• Attend and participate in IEP meetings, preparing clear documentation and recommendations for student services
• Contribute to the development and implementation of school-wide programs that promote positive behavior and mental wellness
• Serve as a resource for crisis intervention and provide support in emergency situations
