This contract position, situated near Putnam, CT, is ideal for experienced school psychologists interested in a part-time schedule of two days per week. Working directly with a high school caseload, your expertise will encourage student well-being and personal growth as you deliver essential counseling support.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Credentialed or licensed as a School Psychologist (as required by state regulations)
- Previous experience working within a school environment, preferably with high school students
- Strong counseling skills with the ability to connect and build trust with adolescents
- Excellent communication, organizational, and documentation abilities
- Commitment to ethical, empathetic, and confidential support of students
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and small group counseling for high school students, addressing academic, social, and emotional challenges
- Collaborate with school staff to identify students in need of counseling support and maintain open communication regarding student well-being
- Maintain accurate, confidential records of student interactions and progress
- Consult with teachers, administrators, and families as needed, always adhering to privacy policies and ethical standards
- Utilize evidence-based practices to help students develop coping skills, resilience, and emotional regulation
- Offer crisis intervention and support as needed
