Qualifications & Experience:
- Active School Psychologist certification in Virginia (or eligibility for licensure)
- Master’s or Specialist degree in School Psychology, Psychology, or a related field
- Experience with comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations and assessments
- Strong skills in counseling, consultation, and conflict resolution
- Proficiency in collaborating with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Understanding of special education processes, including IEP and 504 plans
- Excellent organizational, documentation, and communication abilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychological assessments to identify academic, emotional, and behavioral needs
- Interpret results and collaborate on the development and monitoring of individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Provide direct counseling and intervention services to students
- Support teachers and staff with strategies to promote positive student behavior and learning environments
- Attend eligibility, IEP meetings, and contribute to multidisciplinary team decisions
- Maintain thorough, confidential records and relevant documentation
- Advocate for students’ well-being and educational access
