School Psychologist in Saint Charles, IL

Key Experience and Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree from an accredited program in school psychology or related field
• Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) or National Certified School Psychologist certification
• Comprehensive understanding of research-based assessment and intervention strategies
• Experience interpreting and adhering to state and federal regulations (including IDEA, Section 504, and “child find”)
• Proven ability to develop solution-focused, evidence-based plans supporting both academic and behavioral success
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with experience consulting with parents and multidisciplinary teams

Primary Responsibilities:

• Lead student support teams through Functional Behavioral Assessments and develop effective Behavior Intervention Plans
• Serve as a key point of contact for parents, explaining assessment outcomes and intervention strategies
• Collaborate with the IEP Team to interpret data, identify student needs, and recommend special education services
• Coordinate and facilitate IEP meetings, often acting as the legal educational authority
• Provide direct counseling services both one-on-one and in groups for students facing academic, social, or emotional challenges
• Advise and assist teachers with classroom management strategies and behavioral interventions
• Take part in the School Support Team, driving problem-solving and data analysis within a Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) framework
• Build partnerships between schools and community agencies to further student and family well-being
