Step into a rewarding contract opportunity providing crucial psychological support for students as a part-time school psychologist near San Mateo, CA. Working 14 hours weekly (.4 FTE), you’ll make a significant impact by promoting the emotional and academic well-being of students across diverse backgrounds and needs.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Valid School Psychologist credential required
  • Master’s or higher degree in School Psychology or a related field
  • Experience conducting assessments, writing reports, and participating in IEP meetings
  • Strong knowledge of MTSS/RTI frameworks and implementation
  • Exceptional communication, consultation, and collaboration skills
  • Proven ability to develop and provide behavioral interventions and counseling
  • Flexibility to adapt to both in-person and virtual service delivery as needed

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Conduct comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations to determine eligibility for special education services
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including teachers, parents, and administrators, to create supportive educational plans
  • Lead and participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, contributing assessment results and recommendations
  • Offer short-term counseling and crisis intervention to support student mental health and behavior management
  • Design and implement interventions targeting academic, behavioral, and emotional growth
  • Monitor student progress and adjust interventions in consultation with staff and families
  • Advocate for student needs, fostering an inclusive and supportive school environment
