Your qualifications will shine in this role if you bring:
- Master’s Degree from an accredited institution
- Illinois Professional Educators License (PEL) or valid National Certified School Psychologist certification
- Expertise in research-based assessment measures
- Ability to develop comprehensive plans for supporting both academic and behavioral student success
- Familiarity with federal and state regulations related to special education, including IDEA, 504, and “child find” practices
Major responsibilities include:
- Leading student teams in Functional Behavioral Assessments and developing targeted Behavior Intervention Plans
- Consulting directly with parents, providing them with understandable and actionable strategies for supporting their child's success
- Reporting assessment data and observations to IEP teams and assisting in the identification of disabilities and needs for special services
- Coordinating and facilitating IEP meetings, acting as the LEA representative as needed
- Delivering individual and group counseling to students navigating academic or behavioral challenges
- Collaborating with teachers to address classroom-related concerns and implement effective management strategies
- Serving on the School Support Team, using data to problem-solve through the Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) framework
- Bridging school and community agencies to bolster support for students and their families
