An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced School Psychologist to provide essential support during a leave coverage for a local middle school. This full-time, contract assignment runs from September 1, 2026, through December 23, 2026, with working hours from 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday. This role includes collaborating as a valued member of the Child Study Team and working closely with approximately 40 students in grades 6-8.
This position offers a competitive hourly range between $50 and $55, allowing you to make a meaningful difference while being rewarded for your expertise.
Desired Qualifications:
- Current, valid New Jersey School Psychologist certification (required)
- Previous experience working with students in grades 6-8 preferred
- Strong background in conducting educational evaluations and writing related reports
- Collaborative approach with the ability to partner effectively with educators, support staff, and families
- Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills
Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychoeducational assessments and participate in eligibility determinations for special education services
- Provide expertise and recommendations as an active member of the Child Study Team
- Support student mental health and well-being through consultation, intervention, and crisis support as needed
- Develop comprehensive reports, set goals, and attend Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and family members to promote student success
- Maintain clear, thorough documentation in compliance with district and legal guidelines
