This position focuses on conducting regular evaluations, supporting the Early Childhood Assessment Team, and working across multiple school communities. There are opportunities for those with bilingual (Spanish) proficiency, particularly for placements supporting diverse student populations. If you have experience working with interpreters instead of direct bilingual skills, your expertise is valued as well.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid or pending Connecticut certification as a School Psychologist (open to candidates completing certification)
- Demonstrated experience with psychoeducational evaluations and interventions in a K-12 setting
- Comfort conducting frequent student assessments and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
- Spanish language skills preferred for certain assignments; ability to utilize interpreters effectively is welcome
- Excellent communication and record-keeping abilities
- Familiarity with early childhood assessment practices is a plus
Position Responsibilities:
- Complete educational and psychological evaluations for students as assigned
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to develop and implement support plans
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and help tailor interventions to individual student needs
- Travel between assigned schools, primarily based out of select facilities
- Maintain timely, accurate documentation in compliance with state and local guidelines
