Position Overview

We are seeking a School Psychologist for the 2026–2027 school year in Staunton, Virginia. This position serves a close-knit rural community and supports students across three nearby campuses. The role is primarily focused on evaluations, with optional opportunities to provide counseling services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct psychoeducational evaluations for students across assigned schools
  • Complete approximately 60 evaluations annually, including a mix of initial evaluations and re-evaluations (with a higher concentration of re-evaluations at middle and high school levels)
  • Interpret assessment data and prepare detailed, compliant reports
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to support student needs
  • Participate in eligibility and IEP meetings
  • Provide recommendations for academic, behavioral, and social-emotional interventions
  • Optional: Provide counseling services based on interest and district needs

Caseload & Work Environment

  • School Assignments: 3 campuses (1 elementary, 1 middle, 1 high school), all within 10 miles of each other
  • Student Population: Primarily K–12, with occasional PreK cases
  • Setting: Rural community with a supportive school environment

Qualifications

  • Master’s or Specialist degree in School Psychology
  • Valid Virginia School Psychologist license or eligibility
  • Strong background in psychoeducational assessment and report writing
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multiple school settings
