Step into a meaningful educational role supporting the well-being and success of students in the greater Storrs Mansfield and Norwich, CT areas. This full-time, contract opportunity is available for the 2026-2027 school year and is ideal for a dedicated School Psychologist seeking to make a difference within vibrant school communities. You’ll work 30-35 hours per week, focusing on student evaluations and actively participating in Planning and Placement Team (PPT) meetings.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid and current Connecticut School Psychologist certification is required
- Experience working as a School Psychologist in K-12 settings is highly valued
- Strong understanding of evaluation tools, individualized education programs (IEPs), and special education processes
- Skilled in building relationships with students, teachers, and families
- Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills
- Collaborative approach with a passion for advocacy and student empowerment
Role Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive psychological evaluations and interpret results for use in education planning
- Contribute as a vital member of Planning and Placement Team meetings, helping to tailor education plans
- Consult with teachers, administrators, and families to support students’ academic, social, and emotional needs
- Provide crisis intervention and recommendations to support student well-being
- Maintain accurate records and ensure timely documentation in line with district and state policies
- Offer expertise and consultation to school staff regarding effective interventions and supports for student success
