Job Type Contract

Bring your expertise as a School Psychologist to a dynamic school community in the Virginia Beach area with this full-time, on-site contract opportunity. Starting August 31, 2026, through June 15, 2027, you’ll serve across one or more schools (assignments and caseload details to be determined), collaborating with educators and other specialists to support K-12 student development.

This in-person role is essential as most providers in the district work virtually, ensuring your presence has a direct and meaningful impact. Work a consistent Monday through Friday schedule, 35 hours per week, and enjoy a setting where your knowledge will be valued and your input sought as the district continues to evolve its student support services.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid and current VA Department of Education (DOE) licensure required
  • Active Psychologist license (Virginia) required
  • Experience as a School Psychologist in K-12 educational environments preferred
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Commitment to maintaining ethical standards and confidentiality

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments of students
  • Participate in the development and review of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Consult with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams to promote evidence-based interventions
  • Provide crisis intervention and counseling services as needed
  • Support the social, emotional, and academic success of diverse learners
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation

This position offers a chance to make a tangible difference in the lives of local students while working alongside a dedicated team of professionals. The assignment is entirely on-site (not open to remote or hybrid arrangements), providing daily interactions and engagement with staff and students.
