Join a collaborative special education team dedicated to supporting student success in Suffolk, Virginia. We are seeking a full-time, onsite School Psychologist for the 2026–2027 school year. This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside experienced educational diagnosticians, social workers, and related service providers in a supportive, team-oriented environment.

Position Details

  • Location: Suffolk, VA
  • Schedule: Full-Time, 40 hours per week
  • School Year: 2026–2027
  • Setting: Onsite only

Qualifications

  • Required: Virginia Teaching License with an endorsement in School Psychology

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive psychological evaluations for students.
  • Administer cognitive assessments, behavioral rating scales, and classroom observations.
  • Interpret eligibility criteria and complete eligibility documentation.
  • Guide school teams through the special education eligibility process.
  • Participate in Child Study, reevaluation, eligibility, manifestation determination, and termination meetings.
  • Collaborate closely with educational diagnosticians, social workers, and related service providers to support student outcomes.

Caseload & Team Support

  • Caseload assignments will be based on district needs while taking clinician preferences into consideration whenever possible.
  • School psychologists are assigned to a borough and may serve 2–3 school sites, depending on caseload.
  • Caseload size varies throughout the district.
  • The district is fully staffed with seven School Psychologists, fostering a collaborative team environment.
  • Educational diagnosticians partner with School Psychologists and administer achievement testing, allowing psychologists to focus on cognitive assessments, eligibility interpretation, and consultation.
