Responsibilities include:
- Conducting comprehensive psychoeducational assessments to evaluate students’ cognitive, academic, social, emotional, and behavioral strengths and needs
- Interpreting evaluation results and creating actionable, individualized intervention recommendations
- Participating in IEP meetings and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement student support plans
- Consulting with teachers, parents, and administrators about learning and behavioral difficulties
- Delivering counseling services, both individually and in small groups, to promote social-emotional growth
- Supporting crisis intervention and prevention programs
- Maintaining thorough, confidential student records and documentation in compliance with regulations
Qualifications:
- Current certification or licensure as a School Psychologist (or eligibility to obtain, as required by New York State)
- Experience conducting psychoeducational evaluations in an educational setting
- Solid understanding of special education laws, IEP processes, and best practices for academic and behavioral interventions
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with diverse student populations and interdisciplinary teams
- Highly organized with attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities
