School Psychologist in Syracuse, NY

Responsibilities include:

• Conducting comprehensive psychoeducational assessments to evaluate students’ cognitive, academic, social, emotional, and behavioral strengths and needs
• Interpreting evaluation results and creating actionable, individualized intervention recommendations
• Participating in IEP meetings and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement student support plans
• Consulting with teachers, parents, and administrators about learning and behavioral difficulties
• Delivering counseling services, both individually and in small groups, to promote social-emotional growth
• Supporting crisis intervention and prevention programs
• Maintaining thorough, confidential student records and documentation in compliance with regulations

Qualifications:

• Current certification or licensure as a School Psychologist (or eligibility to obtain, as required by New York State)
• Experience conducting psychoeducational evaluations in an educational setting
• Solid understanding of special education laws, IEP processes, and best practices for academic and behavioral interventions
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with diverse student populations and interdisciplinary teams
• Highly organized with attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities
