A contract opportunity is available for a School Psychologist specializing in telehealth and teletherapy services within a large, diverse school district in Middletown, DE. This full-time position (37.5 hours/week) runs ASAP through June 10th, including professional development days.

The district serves a wide continuum of special education needs, ranging from preschool through high school, including a specialized school supporting students with medical, intellectual disabilities, and emotional disturbance. The environment includes one preschool, eight elementary schools, three middle schools, a large high school, and a specialty school. School psychologists mainly serve one site, with occasional split assignments, such as a half-time role at elementary schools combining for a full-time schedule. The high school team consists of four psychologists, while elementary psychologists generally have 1 to 1.5 staff. The role will involve collaboration with a Special Education Coordinator.

Primary responsibilities include providing comprehensive psychological services, with possibilities for testing-heavy assignments at the elementary level. Contractors are fully included in professional development opportunities, which are employer-paid. Support for licensure transfer to Delaware is available, and candidates with pending licenses are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications and desired experience include:

  • Certification as a School Psychologist with eligibility or active licensure in Delaware (license transfer assistance provided)
  • Experience or comfort with telehealth and teletherapy service delivery methods
  • Ability to handle a diverse student population including special education needs across multiple grade levels
  • Strong assessment and testing skills
  • Effective communication and collaborative capabilities with school staff and families
