A contract opportunity is available for a School Psychologist specializing in telehealth and teletherapy services, located in New Castle, DE. This role supports a large and diverse district encompassing one preschool, eight elementary schools, three middle schools, one large high school, and a special education school serving students with medical, intellectual disabilities, emotional disturbance, and alternative achievement diplomas. The school provides a continuum of special education services up to "D setting."
Primary responsibilities include:
- Conducting psychological assessments and evaluations, with potential focus on testing-heavy assignments at the elementary level
- Delivering teletherapy and telehealth services to support student mental health and special education needs
- Collaborating with school staff and the special education coordinator to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Participating in professional development (PD) days, which are compensated and inclusive of contractors
Candidates will typically be assigned to one site, though splitting time between elementary locations is possible. The high school team includes four school psychologists, with about 1 to 1.5 covering elementary, supported by a special education coordinator.
Qualifications and experience desired:
- Current school psychologist certification; assistance with Delaware licensure transfer is available
- Eligibility to work with a license pending status
- Experience with telehealth or teletherapy in school settings preferred
- Comfortable working in a large district with a range of special education needs
This is a full-time contract position, 37.5 hours per week, starting as soon as possible and continuing through June 10th, including paid PD days.
