This contract position offers the chance to work closely with both middle and elementary school communities near Toano, VA, with a focus on delivering vital psychological services throughout the upcoming academic year.

You will play a key role in the assessment and well-being of students, managing a caseload of 60–80 psychological evaluations annually. With no educational testing required, your expertise in psychological evaluations, functional behavior assessments (FBAs), and counseling will be central to providing meaningful support and insight.

Preferred candidates will be available to start as early as August 3, with flexibility through August 24, just before students return. The assignment runs through the second week of June, aligning with the school calendar. This engaging role covers 37.5 hours each week, following an 8-hour workday with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid credentials for practice as a School Psychologist
  • Experience conducting psychological assessments with school-aged children
  • Proficiency in completing FBAs and providing one-on-one or small group counseling
  • Ability to work independently across multiple school sites
  • Excellent collaboration, communication, and organization skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive psychological evaluations for diverse student needs (60–80 annually)
  • Complete functional behavior assessments and provide targeted counseling services
  • Liaise with educators, families, and other support staff to foster student success
  • Document findings, recommendations, and interventions clearly and in a timely manner
  • Contribute expertise to multidisciplinary teams and intervention planning
